Junior Coach of the Year

Congratulations to Piara Waters Junior Football Club coach Pat Galvin who has been awarded East Fremantle District Junior Coach of the Year.

Pat, who is also the club’s Auskick Coordinator, has coached the same team since 2013 in both the Auskick (2013-2015) and junior (2016) competitions.

The club’s Fundraising and Canteen Coordinator Aimee Tinsley was also named Club Volunteer of the Year.

Club President Elena Mustard said it was fantastic recognition for the Piara Waters Pirates, a young football club based at Piara Waters Pavilion that was expanding rapidly.

“Because of people like Pat and Aimee, our club is growing into a wonderful place for children to learn to play football and be part of their local community,” Mrs Mustard said.

She said Pat was not only a knowledgeable and committed coach; he was also a great role model.

“This has been reflected on game day where his players always respect each other, the other team and the umpires,” Mrs Mustard said. “His team is also a positive influence at the club by the way they conduct themselves around the club and with the other players.

“As Auskick Coordinator, Pat is heavily involved in the club committee and is always looking for ways to improve the club and his team. He is an asset to the club and we are very proud of his achievement.”

Mrs Mustard said Aimee was a well-known member of the club who was always willing to put her hand up to help out.

“Aimee works tirelessly for the club and is always putting the club’s needs first,” she said. “She has made the environment fun and enjoyable at the club, so much so that more parents have put their hands up to volunteer in 2017.

“Congratulations to Pat and Aimee who are valued committee members and parents at the club. We look forward to working with them in 2017.”
